Mafaldine Pasta with Beef Stroganoff

Mafaldine pasta with beef Stroganoff
Delicious pasta recipe
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp olive oil or butter if you prefer
- 1 pound steak
- 250 grams fresh mushrooms sliced
- 250 ml beef broth or use a stock cube dissolved in hot water
- 125 grams creme fraiche
- 2 onions chopped
- 2 garlic cloves finely chopped
- 1 tbsp all purpose flour
- 2 tsp mustard
- couple stalks of parsley finely chopped
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce leave out if you don't have it
- 400 grams mafaldine pasta, cooked (or any pasta you like)
Instructions
- Cut the steak into about 1 1/2×1/2-inch strips.
- Heat a table spoon of olive oil or butter in a skillet and cook the steak strips over medium heat for about a minute until brown. Take it out of the skillet and set aside.
- Add another table spoon olive oil in the same skillet and cook the mushrooms, onions and garlic over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until onions are tender.
- Lower the heat and add the table spoon of flour, stir well. Add the broth and stir . Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Add the creme fraiche and mustard. Stir until combined. Let it simmer for a couple of minutes. This will result in a slightly thick sauce. Add the Worcestershire sauce if you are using it.
- Finally add the steak strips to the skillet, stir to combine and let it simmer for the last time for a couple of minutes.
- Pour the sauce over your favorite pasta and enjoy!
Notes
I love to eat this with some pickled red onion. This gives it just a little extra.
